The East London Community Land Trust is the first urban CLT in the whole of the United Kingdom. It is an open membership organisation, which anyone who lives or works in east London can join!
Members of ELCLT will receive regular updates informing them about upcoming events, opportunities to get involved, and information about how to join our meetings, or our project specific sub-groups, and even how to stand for the Board of Trustees.
We are a people's organisation and the real thing which makes us different is that we're run by people like you!
The East London Community Land Trust is the first large-scale, urban, residential CLT in the whole of the United Kingdom. It is completely independent of political influence and is based soley upon the needs of it’s members and our local communities.
The 'Imagine Trust Fund' has been set up with the explicit goal of raising $500,000 (£300,000) over the next six months. With this money we can and will provide over 1,000 units of affordable housing in the most deprived boroughs of London. Affordable houses that will last forever.
We want proud donors. We welcome the challenge of having to raise such a large amount of money from a wide array of sources. We see it as an exercise in the spirit of our overall endeavour – bringing people and organisations together and declaring with pride a founding stake in a collective movement that will forever endower posterity.
Whoever you are. Wherever you are from. However much you can give. Join us.
